My 30 second conclusion:

Image of the Vapir One

The Vapir One Vaporizer is a good vape, at a good price that gets the job done and is easy to use. While not the most pretty vaporizer or the most convenient distribution method for vapor (the bags don’t work nearly as well as the Volcano’s), you can’t go wrong at the price and you’ll save yourself the cost of the vaporizer in no time, when you calculate how much herb you’re saving by vaporizing. If you’re using this vaporizer for medical purposes, it might not be the easiest one out there, but again, for the price, it’s a good vape.

The comprehensive review:

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Portable & easy to take with you on trips (as long as you have access to an outlet)
  • Quick warm-up time & colored lights to indicate when it’s ready
  • Nice Fahrenheit/Celsius digital temperature readout
  • Whip AND bag capability
  • Very good value; great price point for new or occasional vape users. It’s ONLY $150!!
  • The herbal discs (5 included) are reusable & come with a little tiny lid, so you can vape hash & real herbs very easily
  • The Vapir company offers many accessories to purchase to enhance your Vapir ONE experience
  • Comes with 5 balloons, making it great for parties & smoking with friends since everyone can have their own bag!

Cons:

  • Must be near an outlet to use, so you can’t use it in the car without an adapter kit
  • If you don’t buy the accompanying table stand, you will either have to find a safe, hard spot (tabletop) to lay the Vapir down on or hold it in your hand as it warms up
  • Some of the accessories that would really add to the Vapir’s performance & ease-of-use (i.e., the table stand, power adapter for your car, extra mouthpieces, etc.) are additional items for purchase
  • The bags for the Vapir are extremely small (I get about 3 good hits from a fully blown up bag) and don’t seal well enough to be similar to the experience the Volcano offers
  • When using the whip, you must eject the herb drawer for it to stop vaporizing your herb (so you can waste some bud here if you’re not quick or have arthritis or other medical problems that affect your hands)
  • The pull-out herb drawer & button to eject the herb disc from the herb drawer are made from plastic, making it prone to sticking & not ejecting smoothly from the vape (my main concern here is that the plastic drawer could break easily & the cost involved with fixing that, due to the short warranty, could really add up)
  • Short 90-day Manufacturer’s Warranty (which doesn’t cover all problems) & registering for the warranty is much more involved than with most (lots of stipulations; must be done very soon after purchase; and must provide a lot of information, including a scanned/digital copy of your receipt!)

How I used the Vapir One over the course of 2 weeks:

My experience with the Vapir One has been pleasant. It is a lightweight, easy-to-operate vaporizer with several nice features. The warm-up time (which, to me, is most important because you don’t want to wait forever to smoke!) is quick, around 10-15 minutes. That’s a very good warm-up time for such a reasonably priced unit. If you enjoy using your vaporizer with others, but don’t enjoy sharing the same mouthpiece, then the Vapir One may be the right vaporizer for you. It comes with 5 balloon bags that you can fill up (each with their own mouthpiece, so no spreading germs!) My only caveat on the balloons is that, to me, they seemed very small. When I was testing and using the Vapir One, I could only get about 3-4 good hits per balloon. However, the fact that it comes with so many balloons (and purchasing extras is inexpensive through the company’s website) practically negates this problem.

With the Vapir One you also have the ability to use a whip (a plastic tube that directs the vaporized herb into your mouth).

*Secret Stony Tip* When I first received my Vapir One, I soaked the plastic whip tubes and mouthpieces in hot water blended with some essential oils (I chose grapefruit, lemon and tangerine based on my personal preferences that day, but feel free to choose whatever you like!). Soaking the whip tubes and mouthpieces in the hot water mixed with essential oils removed that “plastic” taste from the whips, which increased the enjoyment of my experience with the Vapir One. I highly recommend doing this if you purchase or use a Vapir One.

The Vapir One can also be used for diffusing herbs or essential oils. Simply make sure you change herb drawers in between uses. I also found that the Vapir One with its small herb discs with covers are ideal for vaporizing hashish. And soaking the whip elements in water with essential oils dramatically increases the pleasure and flavor of the smoking experience.

Please note that the Vapir One is NOT a portable vaporizer, though it is compact enough to pack in your luggage or a travel bag for trips. You must be near an outlet to use it. However, buying an adapter for the cigarette lighter in your car would allow this vaporizer to be somewhat portable and useable on road trips. Also, when vaporizing, you must eject the herb drawer in order for the unit to stop vaporizing your herb. This can be a problem if you have a limited amount of herb and want to save all you can, or if you are a medical user with difficulty using your hands quickly. Also, most all of the components of the Vapir One are made from hard plastic. This concerned me as I could see how the plastic pieces (most notably, the eject button for the herb drawer) could break if the user was not careful.

*Note from the Sleepless Stoner* I’ve had a Voodoo Vaporizer, which is very similar to the Vapir One for 2 years now and haven’t had any meaningful issues with the plastic components. The biggest problem has been that you need to make sure you’re replacing the discs when the hinges on the lids start to weaken.

I have enjoyed using the Vapir. I took it on a trip with me to the mountains a few weeks ago & my friend and I enjoyed using it. We especially enjoyed vaping hash out of it while we were outside on the porch of our cabin. Overall, it is a very good vape.

I would recommend it for most smokers (especially ones looking for a good affordable vape, or someone wanting a lightweight vape that packed/stored easily). However, I wouldn’t recommend that Medical users use it as their primary vaporizer (though they certainly could if they wanted to). It gives good results and is easy to use, but for Medical purposes, I would definitely recommend the Volcano because you can titrate your dosage much more easily with it. It’s more comfortable to operate and use since the Volcano is a stand-up model (it’s hard for a lot of us with chronic pain & health problems to hold something for long periods of time). However, for everyone else, I think the Vapir is a pretty good model. Especially for those who want to have a party vape, as it includes 5 bags with mouthpieces (the Volcano only comes with one mouthpiece and extras are quite pricey). I’d also recommend this vaporizer to anyone looking for a good value vaporizer for regular use. However, if you choose to purchase this vaporizer, I highly recommend buying at least the 1-year warranty (or longer if you plan on using it heavily).
